Long slender stringless 'green' bean with slightly different flavor from the common snap or string bean and a texture that stands up to stir fry and other cooking. It can be used fresh or cooked. It is a good source of protein, vitamin A and C and various of the B vitamins and minerals such as iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and manganese. Long bean is a traditional food in parts of Africa.
